The SOF Veterans Entrepreneurship Grant Foundation exists to restore purpose, dignity, and the ability to earn a sustainable income for Special Operations veterans through entrepreneurship, mentorship, and direct grant funding.
We meet them before the crisis — with capital, contracts, and a community that still calls on them.
Every veteran we support is required to serve again. This is not charity. This is reactivation.

The Thesis
Means before crisis.
Most veteran organizations meet our own after the fall — after the divorce, the bankruptcy, the bottle, the bullet. We refuse to wait. SVEGF invests in operators and veterans while they still have momentum, giving them the means to build something worth living for.
Our Method
We treat the whole person — not just the business plan.
A grant solves a balance sheet. It does not solve a marriage, a mortgage, a quiet night at the kitchen table, or the question of why any of this still matters. So we don't write the check and walk away. We sit at the table.

Mentorship
Operators, founders, and Michigan business owners who have already run the road. Hours, not hashtags. The kind of help that picks up at 2300.

Whole-Person Care
Family in the loop. Financial literacy. Connections to legal, medical, and behavioral health when needed. Purpose before product. We invest in the person the business is built on.

Reactivation
Every recipient is required to serve again — mentor the next cohort, hire a veteran, employ a neighbor, sponsor a kid. The current keeps moving. That is the whole point.
We are not a check-cutting operation. We are a foundation that believes a venture only stands as tall as the person standing behind it — so we invest in both, on purpose, at the same time.
The Cost of Standing the Watch
Before you give, walk where they walked.
A vehicle limps back into the wire with someone else's blood on the seat. A plate carrier comes off in pieces because the round did its job and the vest did its job and the operator is, somehow, still here. A spouse learns to sleep with a phone face-up on the nightstand for the fourth year running. A child learns the word deployment before they learn to spell their own name.

Direct entrepreneurship grants to SOF veterans with viable business plans. No bureaucratic gauntlet. Capital deployed where it can compound — into ventures that produce jobs, income, and identity.

Mentorship, contract pathways, and a peer network of operators who've already crossed the line of departure into civilian business. Strategy, not handouts.

Reactivate
Every grant recipient is required to serve another veteran — through hiring, mentoring, or funding the next operator behind them. The loop never closes.

Kicked doors in cities you'll never visit, on behalf of people they'd never meet, so the rest of us could sleep through the news. They came home. The country moved on. They haven't. Right now we are not handing out grants. We are building the engine that will hand out grants for the next thirty years — the engine that will put capital, mentorship, and a second mission into the hands of the operators who answered over and over, and the Michigan veterans, first responders, and underserved neighbors standing next to them. We won't tell you "every dollar goes to programs" because that isn't true yet — and the line that says it is, on most charity sites, is the lie that erodes trust the moment a donor looks closer. Here is exactly where your dollar goes in 2026.

First hire: a nonprofit donor-relations lead. Second hire: program administration. These two seats are why the operator who finally sends us a business plan at 2 a.m. gets a human reply by morning instead of silence. Without them, every grant we'd ever write stays a PDF on a laptop and another veteran stays on the couch.

Legal, accounting, compliance, application software, donor CRM, secure infrastructure. The unsexy plumbing that lets a Green Beret in Grand Rapids, a 75th Ranger in Detroit, a Michigan veteran in Flint, or a first responder in Pontiac upload one application and get taken seriously. This is what turns "someone should help these guys" into a process that actually does.

The First Pool
Seed capital for the first round of grants and immediate-need disbursements. This is the dollar that ends up paying for the LLC filing, the first month of rent on the shop, the truck, the welder, the website — the thing that turns a veteran with a skill set the world doesn't know how to use into a veteran running their own company. This is also the dollar that arrives the week a family can't make rent, before anyone has to ask twice.

We have modeled a conservative 4× multiplier on Stand-Up dollars over the first three years — because the platform you fund this year unlocks the grants, the federal match opportunities, and the corporate partnerships that compound from here. Translation: the $250 you give tonight is the $1,000 that lands in an operator's company, a Michigan veteran's tuition, a first responder's recovery, or an underserved kid's first real shot by 2029.
