Our Mission

These are the service members who carried the weight when it mattered the most.

Five Special Operations veterans silhouetted in a doorway.
Green Berets. Rangers. SEALs. Raiders. Special Tactics. Combatant-Craft Crewmen.

The SOF Veterans Entrepreneurship Grant Foundation exists to restore purpose, dignity, and the ability to earn a sustainable income for Special Operations veterans through entrepreneurship, mentorship, and direct grant funding.

We meet them before the crisis — with capital, contracts, and a community that still calls on them.

Every veteran we support is required to serve again. This is not charity. This is reactivation.

— D.O.L.
The Thesis

Means before crisis.

Most veteran organizations meet our own after the fall — after the divorce, the bankruptcy, the bottle, the bullet. We refuse to wait. SVEGF invests in operators and veterans while they still have momentum, giving them the means to build something worth living for.

Our Method

We treat the whole person — not just the business plan.

A grant solves a balance sheet. It does not solve a marriage, a mortgage, a quiet night at the kitchen table, or the question of why any of this still matters. So we don't write the check and walk away. We sit at the table.

Two pairs of hands across a worn wooden table at amber lamp light — a notebook, a pen, a coffee mug.
01

Capital

Non-dilutive grants and bridge funding so the venture can stand up without trading away the long game. Money where it can still change the outcome.

02

Mentorship

Operators, founders, and Michigan business owners who have already run the road. Hours, not hashtags. The kind of help that picks up at 2300.

03

Whole-Person Care

Family in the loop. Financial literacy. Connections to legal, medical, and behavioral health when needed. Purpose before product. We invest in the person the business is built on.

04

Reactivation

Every recipient is required to serve again — mentor the next cohort, hire a veteran, employ a neighbor, sponsor a kid. The current keeps moving. That is the whole point.

We are not a check-cutting operation. We are a foundation that believes a venture only stands as tall as the person standing behind it — so we invest in both, on purpose, at the same time.

The Cost of Standing the Watch

Before you give, walk where they walked.

A vehicle limps back into the wire with someone else's blood on the seat. A plate carrier comes off in pieces because the round did its job and the vest did its job and the operator is, somehow, still here. A spouse learns to sleep with a phone face-up on the nightstand for the fourth year running. A child learns the word deployment before they learn to spell their own name.

This is the page we built for the things we don't put in the newsletter. Walk through it before you decide what these service members are worth.

The Rising Tide

When operators rise, everyone around them rises.

Restoring purpose to SOF is the engine. The current it generates carries Michigan veterans of every era, first responders, Gold Star families, and underserved communities — starting metro Detroit, expanding statewide.

01

SOF Nationwide

Green Berets. Rangers. SEALs. Raiders. Special Tactics. SWCC. Night Stalkers. CA/PSYOP. The quiet professionals — every component, every era.

02

Michigan Veterans

Every branch. Every era. Every Michigan veteran looking for a path into business ownership — not just the SOF community.

03

First Responders

Police, fire, EMS, dispatch. Different uniform, same watch. Same need for capital, mentorship, and a way to build after the call ends.

04

Underserved Detroit

Metro Detroit communities historically locked out of capital — first. Then statewide. Veterans, first responders, and operators don't live in isolation; they build where they live.

How We Operate

Three pillars. One mission.

01

Fund

Direct entrepreneurship grants to SOF veterans with viable business plans. No bureaucratic gauntlet. Capital deployed where it can compound — into ventures that produce jobs, income, and identity.

02

Build

Mentorship, contract pathways, and a peer network of operators who've already crossed the line of departure into civilian business. Strategy, not handouts.

03

Reactivate

Every grant recipient is required to serve another veteran — through hiring, mentoring, or funding the next operator behind them. The loop never closes.

The Reactivation Loop

This is not charity. This is reactivation.

  1. 01 — Receive

A vetted SOF veteran receives a direct grant, mentorship, or a contracting pathway to launch or scale a business.

  2. 02 — Build

They build something real — a company, a service, a craft — with full strategic support from the network.

  3. 03 — Reactivate

They are required to reactivate — hiring, mentoring, or funding another SOF veteran. The mission continues through them.
